Ayebia Clarke Publishing Ltd is delighted to announce that the 2008 Aidoo-Snyder First Prize for an outstanding book published by a woman that prioritizes African women’s experiences - was awarded to Ama Ata Aidoo, Editor of African Love Stories: An Anthology and published by Ayebia Clarke in 2006. The award was announced at the African Studies Association (ASA) 51st Annual Conference during the Women’s Caucus Luncheon in the Chicago Sheraton on Saturday 15 November 2008.  The Prize acknowledges the excellence of contemporary scholarship being produced by women about African women.

Ayebia's Love Story Anthology wins Caine Prize 2007 The 'African Booker'

Ayebia is proud to announce an African love story by the Ugandan writer Monica Arac de Nyeko featured in the Ayebia African Love Stories Anthology entitled 'Jambula Tree' won the Caine Prize for African Writing which was announced on Monday night 9th July at an award-winning dinner at Oxford University's Bodleian Library.

The Anthology published in 2006 and Edited by Ama Ata Aidoo is a groundbreaking work that features twenty-one stories covering all four corners of the continent and deals with challenging themes and represents some of the most complex of love stories. The book is an entertaining and a highly recommended read.
