We are a new publishing venture that specialises in quality African & Caribbean writing. Becky Ayebia Clarke was born in Ghana, and emigrated to the UK in 1974. She has an MA in Women Studies from Oxford University and was editor of the highly regarded Heinemann African & Caribbean Writers Series for 12 years where she published and promoted prominent and Nobel Prize winning authors. She founded Ayebia Clarke Literary Agency & Publishing with her husband David Clarke in October 2003.
Through this new venture Ayebia aims to bring talented African and Caribbean writers to a wider audience and will be targetting particularly schools, colleges and the university market, with a view to getting our books onto reading lists in Africa, UK, Europe and the United States. We also of course, cater for all readers who are interested in exploring this work.
There are also plans to publish into other areas including literary criticism, biography, poetry and self-help.
The Editorial Advisory Panel for Ayebia Clarke Publishing is drawn from prominent writers, academics and critics at the cutting edge of literature and based all over the world.
